Well, I didn’t have that c-section today, after all. I figure you guys all know that, but I thought I should announce it just in case. After all, I did get a call from the hospital a couple of days ago so that I could get all checked in for my surgery. The woman was downright confused when I responded, “Uh…I’m good. I’m not pregnant.”
It’s only been twenty days since Eva was born, but there’s no way I’d give up those twenty days. I’m so grateful for every day we’ve had with her. And I’m grateful that I’m not recovering from major surgery right now. I’ll admit that I was pretty terrified about the whole slice-and-remove idea, even with all the reassurance from you kind people who sent me notes. What can I say…I’m a surgery coward. Getting her out the old-fashioned way wasn’t all that fun, but I’d do it five times the old way to avoid going under the knife. It just freaks me out.
And speaking of birth, I am going to blog that birth story, just as soon as I manage to get it all down on paper. Maybe this weekend? It will be soon, because I can already feel the details getting fuzzy…
And speaking of fuzzy, I love the top of my kid’s head. Her little baby fuzz is super soft and smells very good. If I could add a scratch-and-sniff picture to this blog, I totally would so you could all indulge. She’s delish.
