Totally Cut My Own Hair Just Now

If you were online last night close to midnight my time, you might have seen that I got a little impulsive and gave myself a haircut. What can I say? It’s a pain to get childcare and even though I have the greatest stylist in Salt Lake, I don’t mind saving a bit of money on haircuts when I can.

1 /// Have long hair that can’t possibly look worse than it does uncut.

2 /// Pull into a ponytail right in the front-and-center close to your hairline.

3 /// Randomly pick a place to cut (understanding that the closer you get to the hairline, the crazier your hair will look.

4 /// Using the sharpest scissors you have on hand, chop that hair.

5 /// Release ponytail. Assess damage.

I don’t think it turned out too bad, myself, especially in light of the fact that my hair was getting positively ridiculous. It’s definitely choppy, but I kind of like it!

What do you think? Brave enough to give yourself a new look?

I’m not that brave but I also only cut my hair twice a year or so and don’t pay very much for it. That being said, your hair came out pretty good. It looks like you got pro layers. Nice job!

I highlighted my own hair two weeks ago and seriously considered cutting it myself. Then I decided to just run up to supercuts one night since it would be quick. That still hasn’t happened and my super long hair looks ridiculous as well. It’s hard to find even an hour to get your hair done when you have kids. What did I used to do with all my time?

I’m a real chicken when it comes to doing different things with my hair, but I might try something like this a week or so before a bit cut, just to see what would happen. 😉

Looks great! I’ve been doing this exact same thing to my hair for a little over a year now. It’s so convenient.
