It’s almost here! The holiday season is fast approaching and the Morgan family is ahead of the game for once. Holiday cards: check!

I know that not everyone does holiday cards anymore, which is such a shame! I really look forward to receiving them and I save them every year. When we pull the holiday decorations out, I have a big stack of holiday cards that get displayed with everything else. It’s so much fun to see how families change over the years.

Shutterfly has complete sets of stationery for the season, including holiday cards, party invitations, address labels, stickers, and personalized postage. I had a hard time deciding between all of the designs available, but ultimately we went with the Spectacular Season Christmas Card, which is a 5 x 7 card that mixes a matte photo with foil-stamped lettering. I love how it’s a great mix of friendly and festive!

You can see that we went with a casual picture of the kids this year. I’ll be including a more formal holiday picture for a few relatives, but I thought that these messier photos were more represented of the Morgans. Plus, the gold lettering keeps it classy, you know?

Side note: the back of the card looks foil-stamped but it’s actually a printed design. Fine with me – I don’t know that any more gold would have done that giant water stain on Kyle’s chest any favors. Resolution for 2015: more family photos where we aren’t all a hot mess!

They look great! I’m not sure that we’re doing any this year. It’s so thoughtful when we receive them, but so many go unanswered or get lost that it just seems like a big expense for nothing when I can just text the same message on the 25th or the 1st of Jan for free, you know?
