Scenes from the Napa 4th of July Parade

One of my favorite things about Napa, California, is the fact that it’s still a small town even though it’s also a world famous tourist destination. Most of the wineries and fuss are actually on the outskirts of Napa (if not outside of the city altogether) so much of the heart of the city is still the same little shops that I grew up with. I also love that traditions like the 4th of July parade put on by the Napa Sunrise Rotary are still going strong.

The 4th of July parade is a lot of fun because it really shows off the people in the community. Instead of huge floats sponsored by businesses competing for everyone’s attention, this parade is more just people walking to support the organizations that they love. Some people gave out candy or little toys, but we were mostly there for the music and to wave at the people we knew as they marched by.

I hope you had a safe and happy 4th of July! We’re here for just a few more days so I’ll be bringing you more California in the near future. I love it here so much!
