Printable List of Nut-Free Snacks

Last year, I spent four hours shopping for as many nut-free snacks as I could find in common grocery stores. I wanted to take a list of Eva-friendly snacks to the preschool to help the other parents accommodate her nut allergies. As it was, her class was great about it (with just a few mistakes that were really nobody’s fault) but I ended up having to pull her anyway because her asthma was aggravated by the common germs she was picking up. This year, she’ll be home with me but I know there are a ton of parents out there who are searching for nut-free snacks and I wanted to share this resource.

Here’s the list of safe nut-free school snacks (printable version – nut free snacks). If you’re using this as a guide to shop for your own allergy bug, remember to check labels!!! This list was put together last year (August 2014) and a they change ingredients all time. Look for those contamination warnings to be sure!

Everyone should feel safe at school!

I know everyone has a different comfort level with cross contamination but I recently found out from my “No Nuts Allergy Mom” group on facebook that Nabisco is owned by a company that does not label for possible cross contamination. They do so only if they feel that their cleaning process wasn’t good enough. Just a thought…we are looking for alternatives to most of Nabisco’s products.

Carri P – where did the person in your group get that information about the Nabisco products? It would be helpful to be able to back a statement like that up so we can all make educated decisions. I have family members with severe nut allergies and so I am always looking out for them when bringing desserts to pass at parties.
